Chebe powder originates from the African country of Chad, specifically from the Sahel region. The powder is derived from the seeds of the Croton zambesicus plant, which is native to that area. The women of the ethnic group known as the Basara Arabs in Chad have been using chebe powder for generations as part of their hair care routine.

The Basara women are known for their long, healthy hair, and chebe powder is believed to play a significant role in maintaining the health and length of their hair. They have a specific application method where the chebe powder is mixed with other ingredients like oils, butters, and water to form a paste, which is then applied to the hair.

Chebe powder, also known as shebe powder or chébé powder, is a traditional hair care product used by the women of the Sahel region in Africa, particularly in Chad and Niger. It is derived from the seeds of the Croton zambesicus plant, which is ground into a fine powder and mixed with other ingredients to form a paste.

The women of the Sahel region have been using chebe powder for centuries as part of their hair care routine. They believe that it helps to moisturize and strengthen the hair, prevent breakage, and promote length retention. Chebe powder is primarily used by women with tightly coiled or kinky hair textures.

The exact recipe for chebe powder can vary, as it is often a closely guarded secret passed down through generations. However, the main ingredients typically include the powdered seeds of the Croton zambesicus plant, along with other herbs, oils, and natural ingredients such as lavender, rosemary, cloves, and animal fat. These ingredients are mixed together to form a thick paste, which is then applied to the hair.

The application process involves dampening the hair and dividing it into sections, after which the chebe paste is applied from the roots to the ends. The hair is then braided or twisted to protect it and prevent tangling. Some women leave the chebe paste in their hair for several days, while others prefer to wash it out after a few hours.

Chebe Powder

I really like it, I made chebe oil, used it with my conditioner for a deep conditioner, and I made chebe water. My hair feels so soft and moisturized.
